Karen Sisneros (Lankford) an American actress, storyteller and creative experience maker was born in El Paso, Texas. She was adopted at birth and raised by Jim Lankford, a mathematician and computer systems analyst at White Sands Missile Range, and Kay Lankford, an earth and life science teacher at Socorro Middle School. Karen is of Scottish/ English descent. On her biological paternal side, she is 2nd-generation born outside of Scotland. Karen attended Eastpoint Elementary School, Eastwood Middle School and Eastwood High School; all in El Paso, Texas. Karen was active in her middle school and high school Speech and Drama Teams. She participated several years in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Prose Reading competition, placing 2nd city-wide two years in a row when she was 13 and 14 years of age. Karen modeled and competed in beauty pageants during her 20s in both Utah and Texas. She competed in Miss Utah 1991. She was crowned Miss El Paso Community College in 1993 and went on to compete in Miss Texas World in Galveston, Texas in 1994. In 1996 she was a top 10 Finalist in Miss El Paso USA.
