For Ms. Citron, growing up in Los Angeles meant going to television tapings more than museums; meeting magical people in all walks of life, without really knowing who they were. Surviving a perilous bicycle crack-up, it was out of the trees and Brownies, and into white gloves and the cha-cha at Paul Henreid's Cotillion. Civil minded, she led some of her 6th grade classmates in the 1969 march to hear Angela Davis' historic speech at the UCLA. Artistically inclined, she took up oil painting lessons the six months of Saturdays she was grounded for dodging school to attend the rally. A precocious cinéphile, Zefferelli's: Romeo & Juliet, roused her early to the Bard's seemingly effortless beauty and wisdom, and a summer of Shakespeare Studies in Cambridge during high school. Ken Russell's: Music Lover's, inspired her to study the piano, beginning her college career at United States International University's School of Performing & Visual Arts, as a Classical Piano Major. After USC and a Semester-at-Sea, Ms. Citron adjoined all her passions, as an English Major. While finishing her Bachelor of Arts work at UCLA, she deferred to her poetic nature and literary skills, entering the wondrous world of her childhood imaginings: the entertainment field. In a paid internship as a Press Agent for publicist, David Mirisch, of the Mirisch family, Ms. Citron's clients included: the Boone Family and LA JAZZ COMPANY, comprised of visionary choreographers: Paula Kelley, Roland Dupree and Michael Bennett. Upon graduation, Lenny Kravitz's father, West Coast Bureau Chief of ABC News, Sy Kravitz, hired Ms. Citron to assist on the Assignment Desk, for such segments, as: Sirhan Sirhan's appeal for parole. Afterward, Ms. Citron landed a position as a Research Assistant on the Entertainment Segment of "The Today Show;" and precursor to Entertainment Tonight, "TV: Inside & Out," where she learned the professional "inside and outs" of the industry. Of her over thirty years in film and television, Ms. Citron has worked in a variety of capacities, while readying herself as a filmmaker - always with innovators. After many years of production and development experience, Ms. Citron returned to UCLA, for graduate studies in English, Education and Screenwriting; and to her high school Alma Mater, Harvard-Westlake, to teach English literature, composition and grammar. Employed as the Welfare-Teacher on Fox's breakout series, Married with Children, Ms. Citron had the opportunity to pitch and sell stories to them. Of their eleven seasons, several countries, including: the BBC, Argentina, Brazil and Russia purchased Ms. Citron's episode: "My Mom, the Mom," for their original remakes. It was the highest rated episode for several seasons, and its clips were used in more than a few specials documenting the evolving mother-daughter relationship, distinguished with a plaque in the New York Museum of Radio & Television's: "Funny Women in Television." Historically, Monarchs always employed writers as Secretaries and Tutors to the Royal Family. Ms. Citron has viewed her tenure in that capacity similarly, as a Sponsorship, while comprising her body of work. Holding the ultimate authority on set when minors are present, also conjoined her love of children and production skills. Ms. Citron has held several leadership positions in Production, including Script Coordinator, and producing a red-carpet show, with historical figures in the worlds of entertainment and politics, providing press clearance; procuring research and editing interviews, which she brought to and exhibited at NAPTE. She has appeared in over fifty films and television series with award winning talent and Directors, continuing acting and filmmaking studies at AFI, UCLA and others, including: Charles Jaffe, Darin Scott (Directors Workshop); Warner Brothers (Writing Workshop), Anne Marie Gillian (financing); Akua Bouyenne (Law Workshop for Inde- Producers); while also attending Film Markets and IFTA financial conferences, to name a few ...
