Troy Poet Lewis was born on July 7th, 1977, in Newark, New Jersey, to Sheila Hinnant and James Lewis. He is the youngest out of 8 siblings, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Lewis graduated from Weequahic High School "Indians" in 1995. He now resides in Newark, New Jersey. Troy Lewis stands for Integrity. He is the Founder of the National Poetry Awards that dedicates to poets and spoken word artist throughout the United States. This is his way of giving back to the community. National Poetry Awards was founded in 2009. He is also a writer of poetry. With in the last 3 years; he has self published 3 poetry books, 1 novel and 2 CDs. He is also the Founder of Silent Myndz Group which is a team of writers, hip hop artists and singers that reach across the USA. They recently release Writers of The States and other musical compilations. In 2007 Lewis landed his first extra role in a music video for Hip Hop artist Bakem Da Black Soul. Which lead in other extra roles for other hip hop artists from New Jersey, North & South Carolina and Seattle Washington. He has been an extra in over 20 music videos. Also, Since 2007 Troy has been performing poetry on stages across the USA from local coffee shops to colleges / universities. He is a must hear performer. Summer of 2012 Troy was an extra in an independent film called "Church of Redemption" which was filmed in middle Georgia. 2014 he had a small part in the Starz sitcom POWER. Also, he was casted in 2 other independent films name The Unknown & The Fearless One. He is ready to take on his acting career full steam.
