Pete Law was born to Don and Jewell Law in Columbus, Indiana and grew up in the nearby town of Hope, Indiana. He attended Hope Elementary and Hauser Junior-Senior High School. Unfortunately, his high school did not have a theater department. This helped him develop a love of television (primarily sitcoms) and movies. He had a strong desire to attend film and acting school in California, but his parents wanted him to get a more stable career. He attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where he began as a pre-pharmacy major even though he knew being an elementary teacher was in his heart. He switched to an education major second semester. Upon graduation, Pete substitute taught, tutored, and worked as a teaching assistant before receiving a teaching position in his hometown at Hope Elementary. For 19 years, he taught students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. He received his Master's Degree (M.Ed.) from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2001. His acting career began in 2008 at the age of 33 when a fellow teacher encouraged him to audition for the summer musical of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL in Columbus, Indiana for Mill Race Players. His role(s): Karaoke DJ and Science Decathlon Moderator. After his start, he began to act in plays for Jackson County Community Theatre in Brownstown, Indiana, Jennings County Players in North Vernon, Indiana, Actors Community Theatre of Seymour in Seymour, Indiana, and Shelby County Players in Shelbyville, Indiana. In 2013, he was asked to do a play in Hope on a small stage in a tea room/ antique store which resulted in a one night reading of LOVE LETTERS. He then began his own theater group that eventually was named "Actors' Studio of Hope." This group still performs plays and musicals in the venue now known as WILLow LeaVes of Hope. In May of 2015, Pete received a scholarship to The Second City Training Center in Chicago to study improv. He also was able to study sketch comedy writing. He completed four levels of improv and comedy writing in 2015 and 2016. He attended many classes at the training center. One Person Show, Hosting for Television, and Acting for Film are just a few of the classes he took. Upon completing the One Person Show Workshop presented by Canadian Actress Anne Marie Scheffler, he wrote a One Man Show about his growing up in Hope in the 70's and 80's. The show, THE LAWS OF JACKSON STREET, premiered at WILLow LeaVes of Hope in February 2017. In 2018, Pete auditioned in Chicago for the Art of Acting Studio's summer Film and Television Intensive held at the Los Angeles school and was accepted. He repeated the program the following summer. To continue his study of comedy and improv, he auditioned for The Groundlings Training Center and attended classes in the summer of 2019. In 2021, Pete received his SAG Card and became a member of the Screen Actors Guild with his role in the movie BONES AND ALL starring Timothee Chalamet, Mark Rylence, and Taylor Russell. He teaches improv, acting, and music at Mt. Healthy Elementary and Parkside Elementary in Columbus, Indiana. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Pete Law
